NH Hotel Casino

The location works well, right in the center and two blocks from the beach. Staff are friendly, and breakfast has a good range of options. The rooms are modest and a little dated, with cramped bathrooms, and the Wi-Fi isn't reliable. A good fit if location matters more than modern comforts.

The only real annoyance was a grumpy older man doing a microphone show outside the hotel near the sea lion statues. He calls himself a "street performer" and tells jokes, but during my stay he wasn't funny at all, mostly making fun of the people around him. It was really irritating trying to sleep with him in the background. Everything else was excellent. The hotel is lovely and very close to the beach, and the catering, cleaning, and reception teams all provided excellent service.

The ocean-view room was spacious and very comfortable, and cleanliness was fine. Breakfast pastries, especially the croissants, were the best part. For a 4-star hotel, it would be nice to have more breakfast choices and more room service.

I was there on a business trip. Reception and breakfast are available around the clock, but there's no kitchen, so you have to go out for food or coffee. There aren't shared spaces like a pool either. The rooms are bright and spacious, many with sea views. They have comfortable beds, period furniture that's been carefully restored, satellite TV, free Wi-Fi, basic toiletries, and a hairdryer. There's no minibar. The long, well-preserved corridors keep the building's original design and historic character. It's been declared a National Historic Monument and is a city icon, across from Bristol Square and close to the casino and a shopping center.
