Esmeralda Select Hotel

Uncomfortable beds, a basic breakfast, bad smells in the bathroom and hallways, poor service and unfriendly hosts. They’re always short one for the scale, with lots of room to improve. One night we asked for cutlery with dinner and were told they had no forks because they didn’t need them for breakfast. When you came in carrying a lot of things, nobody opened the door to help. They charge to heat water for mate. The bathroom water took 20 minutes to get hot, and the pressure was low. A bad experience.

The food at "La Rosca" tasted great every one of the four days we ate there. The downside was how repetitive it got, with very little variety on the salsa menu. The location is amazing, super close to the beach. Reception were 10 out of 10, incredibly friendly and helpful. Even the young man on the night shift greeted us warmly when we came back at 4 am and gave us hot water for mate. Our room was small but fine for sleeping, and the beds were super comfortable. The fan was a bit noisy, though otherwise everything was great. Cleaning was excellent too.

The service is excellent. The hotel is clean 24 hours a day, and the staff are friendly and always very helpful. I highly recommend it. I’d only ask them, if it’s up to them, not to contract with a restaurant like La Rosca, where the service is terrible. The meals are the same every day, rice, rice and more rice. I also think the hotel should provide hot water for thermoses for free instead of charging. Those little details make a difference when choosing a vacation spot. Thank you.

The staff treat you incredibly well, and that’s the only good thing. The rooms are tiny and bad. If you pay for half-board, the food is poor, though breakfast is okay. Check-in is at 2 PM and checkout at 9 AM, and being late means they charge you for half a day. Double and triple rooms cost the same. The bathroom has no ventilation. If you can stay at another hotel, do it. This one is really bad.
