The only thing going for this place is its location. We stayed in room 1, which had a wobbly, broken bunk bed and no storage at all. The bathroom doesn't work for four people: the shower is right over the toilet, so everything gets soaked each time, and you have to keep the water from reaching the floor. There isn't even a dry spot for the toilet paper. Breakfast was just coffee and croissants. The common areas are tiny and only open for limited hours. I wouldn't recommend it to families.

The neighborhood in Mar del Plata is lovely, but the room I saw, number 7, was in such poor shape that I couldn't stay. I went elsewhere about six blocks away, at a similar price, because it felt more reassuring in terms of hygiene. I'd booked only for Friday night, December 12, 2025. The reviews and photos had led me to expect an old building with a preserved style, but it was simply old and badly maintained, and I started doubting the cleanliness of the bedding and bathroom. The floor had been redone, though the walls clearly needed paint. The curtain was dirty and stained, the bedroom door hardware was very old and neglected, and there was a lot of grime behind the bathroom sink. A plastic outlet had been added beneath the fan and was also very dirty. Cables dangled below the TV and fan. It was a huge disappointment.

There are several room types, and the place is clean and practical. Just three blocks from Varese Beach, it was especially good value off-season. The bathroom setup is a little strange, with the shower in the middle, so you have to dry everything afterward. The shared kitchen could use a deeper clean.

The staff are lovely, and breakfast being included is a real plus. It's also unusually well equipped for a hostel. Varese beach is just three blocks away.
