Hotel Mar y Mar

Antonio was kind and attentive throughout our family’s five-day stay over New Year’s, and the hotel’s convenient, well-connected location was a real plus. It also felt like good value for money. Still, there were several things that could be better. The rooms were quite dark. In one, pigeons made constant noise all day and even at night. We asked if anything could be done and got no response, so we shut the window and that solved it. We also smelled cigarette smoke in the common areas several times, and saw a woman smoking in the kitchen while food was being prepared, which felt inappropriate. Breakfast didn’t match what the website described. Scrambled eggs, toasted sandwiches, and omelets were listed, but none were offered during our stay. The choices were very limited, sometimes just toast and butter, so we bought cream cheese and fruit ourselves. One morning the option was a ham and pea roll. Since our family doesn’t usually eat that kind of food for breakfast, we politely declined. We were told we should have mentioned in advance that we didn’t like it. We couldn’t have known what was being served that day, and a simple alternative like toast would have made the situation much more pleasant. We also felt uncomfortable with the afternoon attendant, who wasn’t very friendly. On a few occasions, we were told off for opening the front door ourselves. With some improvements to customer service and support, the experience could be much better.

Doli was incredibly kind and attentive. She even sent us off with sweet bread for the trip home, and Antonio was always checking that we had what we needed. After just one night, we already wanted to return. We felt right at home and could really relax with our dog, since the place welcomes pets. Everything was spotless and well maintained, and breakfast was delicious.

The location made it easy to explore and stroll, with the city center and beaches nearby. Bus stops right outside also take you to places like the port or lighthouse. The hotel is run by wonderful people, and the rooms are very comfortable and impeccably clean. Service was excellent throughout. Antonio was always friendly, ready to help, share information, or chat, and Dolly brought kindness and friendly conversation along with an impeccable, varied included breakfast. Highly recommended, and we’d definitely return!

It’s very affordable compared with other options, and the hotel is pet-friendly. We found it comfortable, quiet, and cozy, with a delicious homemade breakfast. Antonio and his staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always happy to chat or ask if we needed anything. For Mar del Plata, it’s the best value hotel.
