Banana Hostel

It’s in a quiet spot, though still near the lively area. There’s loads of open space, and sometimes they have live music. The prices are low, and breakfast is generous and really tasty.

The food at the bar was delicious, homemade, and affordable, and breakfast was tasty and included. There’s free ping-pong, a pool, and a lap pool, plus the location and service were good. The upkeep and cleanliness were only average. Rooms are small, with triple bunk beds, and one bathroom serves eight people. There aren’t any shared bathrooms, just the ensuite.

The hostel itself is pretty good, but the staff could do better. We got there early on a Sunday in February, and nobody at reception could tell us how to make good use of the time. That’s an important thing they should improve.

The place was filthy, and it’s disorganized, with really inefficient communication despite having so many employees. I went twice, the second time because I already had a reservation, but when we arrived they couldn’t find it. I don’t recommend staying here.
