Andamundos Hostel

Waking up and heading straight down to the river to stretch and unwind was my favorite part of staying at Andamundos. The hostel is near Mina Clavero's main beaches, and there's always something to do. Mina feels magical, and Andamundos is a great base for experiencing it. I plan to return in 2027, since there's still so much to see. I had a fantastic week. Rodri was a wonderful host, and Ro, Gabi, and Angi gave excellent service. The place is spacious and has all the essentials. Breakfast was delicious, and the bar had good prices and excellent drinks. We also used the grill and clay oven for a fantastic barbecue. There were plenty of vegan options, and I made friends in the lovely atmosphere.

The staff were good and the atmosphere was pleasant, but the facilities were disappointing. In the ten-person shared room, the bathroom had no ventilation, the shower had no curtain, and part of the door was missing. There was only a small skylight in the room, and the lockers were tiny. A vegan breakfast was included, and there was a path down to the river, though it wasn't especially appealing. Alcohol was only allowed if bought there. At US$20 per night in January 2026, it wasn't cheap. I don't recommend it and wouldn't come back.

The location made getting around easy: Andamundos is on the main avenue, just two or three blocks from the center, with shops, supermarkets, restaurants, and everything else nearby. I stayed in a private room that had what I needed to feel comfortable. The river access was too high for me to enjoy, but I did get to enjoy the park and bar. This was my first time traveling alone, and I felt very comfortable. The girls who welcome you and get everything ready at the hostel were wonderful. It rained nonstop one day, so Jes organized a painting workshop, and I also had a Reiki session with Gabi. I'm not vegan, but I was surprised by how delicious the vegan breakfast and lunch were.

There's a small path at the back that leads down to the river, definitely worth exploring. Rodri and the girls were great, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Dinner was filling, and breakfast had plenty of choices. Beautiful.
