Hotel Trocadero

The good points were the constant cleaning, the friendly maids, the pool that was always clean, and the steady hot water for showers. But the hotel is expensive for what it offers and doesn’t feel like the advertised three stars. The room was tiny, old, and smelled damp, with perfume used to cover it. The bathroom faucets leaked, and they didn’t provide shampoo or conditioner until the last day, which felt like a farewell gesture. Breakfast was basic and repetitive, and they didn’t replenish things when they ran out. There was a parking garage next to the building, but they sent us to park three blocks away because they preferred to rent the hotel’s spaces by the day for more profit. There was no ventilation in the room, it was extremely hot, and the rusty ceiling fan barely helped. They were desperate to charge us as soon as we arrived.

There’s only one high electrical outlet in the bathroom, and none in the room, even though everything needs charging these days. The private parking is 250 meters away and costs extra. They advertise it as part of the service, but it’s a total scam. THEY DO NOT HAVE THEIR OWN PARKING. They rent you a space from a hotel chain and bill you separately. BEWARE. BEWARE. BEWARE.

The pool really adds to the stay. The service was excellent and the location great.
