Damaris Hostel

This is the cheapest hostel I've found in Argentina so far, and I have no complaints. There are lockers, and the dorm has no bunk beds, so you always get a bottom bed.

They changed the price and availability as soon as we arrived. We'd booked two beds in a four-person room, but instead got beds in separate rooms for six and eight people. The place is a 30-minute walk from the center, and the bathroom is a mess. We ended up going elsewhere, but the owner didn't care and wouldn't refund the last night. I wouldn't recommend staying here even for one night.

The hosts were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was great. The rooms, bedsheets, and washrooms were kept clean, and breakfast was good. They'll call a taxi for you to get to the falls or cross the border. It's a little out of downtown, around 1.5 -2 km, but still walkable. The air conditioning was great and you can set the temperature yourself. And they had a puppy :)

The water went out once during my stay. I'm not sure if the whole area was affected. There were power plugs only in some parts of the room. On the plus side, the hosts were a lovely family making an honest living, and there were two cute mixed-breed dogs that looked a bit like corgis, plus two points for them. Coffee and other hot drinks were available all day. It's near the city center, and the beds are on individual frames, so they don't shake when someone tosses and turns or comes in late.
