Falls Iguazú Hotel & Spa

The rooms and decor are nice, and the breakfast and dinner that come with the stay are basic but good. Still, for the price and star rating, I was disappointed with the service and a lot of other things. The outdoor pool was dirty, with bugs, toilet paper, and other debris floating in it, and it was quite cold when we visited in weather that wasn’t hot. We tried the indoor pool and sauna, but staff said there was an extra charge and were quite rude about it. For what this place costs, I think those should be included, as they have been at other places, especially with the outdoor pool in that state. We also asked to exchange money and got a brusque “no,” despite restaurant staff first saying it was possible. During heavy rain, I tried to take a hotel umbrella into town and a staff member grabbed it from me, saying it couldn’t leave the hotel. That was the final straw. Customer service! I was honestly lost for words at an “alleged five star hotel.” It’s also a bit out of town. I’d stay somewhere simpler in town instead. You’re really there to see the Falls, so with my experience I wouldn’t waste money here.

The only thing missing was some evening entertainment or music to bring a bit more life to the atmosphere. Otherwise, Falls Iguazu hotel was amazing, with great staff, food, pool, and amenities. A smashing hotel near town, and it’s a nice 60 min walk. Breakfast and dinner are included, though a bit "Billy Butlin." There were lots of kids running around on Saturday night. That’s not the hotel’s fault, just a lack of good parenting.

The Falls were magnificent, but the stay was a very unfortunate experience. The pool had loose tiles that the kids were diving for, leaving sharp edges. There were razor sharp rusty metal objects in the garden, and staff told us we shouldn’t walk there, only on the stones. Breakfast and dinner were very uncosy, with very basic food. When a national strike forced us to check out one night early because our plane wouldn’t fly, the staff and manager were unwilling to help. Maybe it was once a fabulous hotel, but it isn’t now. DO NOT BOOK HERE.
