Loi Suites Iguazú Hotel

We only had a short stay and loved it so much that we cut our time at the falls short to get back to the hotel. The staff made a big difference. Carlos was amazing, and several other attendants were a great help too. I hope they’re rewarded and treated well. The hotel sits right in the jungle, with beautiful pools that weren’t too crowded. Our room was gorgeous and spacious, with air conditioning, a huge bed, and modern design and bathrooms. The location was superb, and breakfast and bar drinks were amazing. A 10/10 stay, truly five stars. We want to return!

The rooms are roomy, and mine had two king beds with space to spare. Breakfast is included and there’s a wide choice of food. I also ate at the Tiki Bar by the pool each evening for three nights, and there was enough variety to do that. The hotel is beautiful and works well, with staff who seem keen to make guests comfortable. Its three or four pools have different temperatures and a lovely setting.

The property has a lot going for it physically. Loi Suites Iguazú is surrounded by nature, and the location feels magical. The architecture, carefully chosen furniture, elegant welcoming lobby, and well-designed rooms all suggest luxury. Our room was comfortable and clean. The service and operations didn’t live up to that setting. Housekeeping seemed understaffed or disorganized, and couldn’t clean every room promptly and consistently. Food and beverage service was particularly weak. Slow responses, poor attention to detail, and numerous operational problems seriously affected the stay. There was little sense of a hospitality culture or clear brand identity. Without major changes, the hotel risks wasting what could be an outstanding experience. Management needs a full restructuring, alongside thorough staff training and a clear vision for hospitality.

The riverside property and room are beautiful, and Kevin at reception was awesome. Reception and concierge deserve a 5, but service overall gets a 3. Food and beverage gets a 1. At the Yvaga bar, I asked for sparkling wine after seeing other people with it. The bartender said they were out, so I ordered a gin and tonic. While he made it, another guest asked about sparkling wine, and he opened the fridge and brought out a fresh bottle. Then my friend ordered a gin and tonic and was told they’d run out of gin. Seriously, a bar out of gin? We went along with it until the bill included beers we hadn’t had. There were only six people in the bar. None of this is a huge deal on its own, but the bad attitude and lack of interest in serving drinks earned that low rating. The photo below clearly shows the sparkling wine bottle and the bartender pouring a glass, despite having said they were out. For what it costs to stay here, I expected better.
