Hotel Las Maras

The room was very basic, with no amenities. The toilet paper and toiletries were the lowest quality. Breakfast wasn’t included, and I wouldn’t count the stale-looking bread and cornflakes as breakfast. The employees were nice.

The staff were welcoming, and the beds were comfortable. It was simple and clean, with a fridge and air conditioner in the room, but both were so loud we had to switch them off the first night to sleep. After that, we got earplugs. All the rooms are on the ground floor, and ours faced the parking lot, so we didn’t feel comfortable leaving the window tilted open. Green apples were the only healthy breakfast option, and we enjoyed them. Everything else was loaded with sugar. It covers the basics, but it wasn’t great.

The location was very good, the staff welcoming, and we liked having private parking. The place was sparkling clean and recently renovated, and the price was okay. Breakfast was the letdown: just toast and marmalade, sweet croissants, and cereal. Nice experience otherwise, but that’s why I gave it four stars.

The staff were really good, and the place is beautiful with a great location. That made our return visit all the more disappointing, since we chose it again because we’d had such a lovely stay a few years ago. Our room was clean and nice, but cramped for three, with nowhere to put things by the bed and no small fridge. The patio outside the windows also needs cleaning. Breakfast was a letdown. They used to refill things when they ran out, but this time there was hardly enough to eat: stale bread, too little to toast, burnt reheated coffee, hard cakes and dense croissants. I hope they improve.
