La Comarca

We were grateful we stayed here. The rooms are rustic and can get too hot, though they were spotless and decorated to fit the rural setting. It’s not really a luxury-pampering place, but it’s peaceful and beautiful, and we felt well looked after. The staff were so welcoming and helpful when we had to change our plans. The setting itself is stunning, with lovely hill views from the cabin terrace and pool. The restaurant had good local dishes as well as straightforward options like pasta. We especially liked the homemade bread dips and the fresh scrambled eggs at breakfast, which you have to ask for.

The setting is beautiful, and the hotel looks lovely, but the basics need attention. When it rained, the roof leaked in two spots, and the room became exceptionally hot even on days that weren’t especially warm. It was very clean and simply furnished, though nothing felt special. Our room had a flimsy plastic toilet seat, and the open stairs to the upper bedroom looked nice but seemed potentially dangerous. Breakfast was plain and uninspiring, with very little to choose from. The staff were friendly enough, but didn’t do anything to make the stay feel special. It’s a shame, because this place could be amazing. We wouldn’t stay again.

The location is great, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. A staff member came into our room at night and scared us badly, and the boss didn’t apologize when we checked out. The food wasn’t good, and there are better places in Purmamarca center. Staff didn’t speak English, or seem to speak at all. The rooms are outdated, and there’s no gym or spa worth the name. I would never recommend it.

The surroundings are beautiful. The rooms are adequate, but there’s no air conditioning. Depending on which room you get, a ceiling fan and windows that open can provide decent ventilation. Some rooms only have a small window.
