The location was excellent, and it was sweet of the staff to worry when we hadn't returned one night. We stayed three nights and had a rental car for touring around. The rooms and amenities were a little below basic.

The room was roomy, though the bed was a bit uncomfortable and could use an upgrade. The bathroom was on the small side, but the water was nice and hot. Breakfast was a basic but adequate buffet of bread, pastries, tea, juice, jams, butter, and coffee. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the location was excellent. I thought the price matched what you got perfectly.

Being a block from Plaza 9 de Julio made the location excellent, and the service was good and friendly. Salta is a city, so my wife and I didn't expect it to be peaceful. Our room wasn't pleasant, and we had single beds, but we managed. It's a good way to avoid the high, sometimes exorbitant, prices at the city's hostels and hotels.

I wouldn't recommend this place at all. It was run down and unhygienic, and the room looked nothing like the photos. The manager admitted the sheets were dirty. We never got the towels or soap that were included in the room rate.

The people were very hospitable, and for the quality and price, this hostel deserves five stars. It's a lovely place in the heart of Salta, two blocks from the center of Plaza 9 de Julio and near the San Martín Avenue market. Prices are affordable. I'd only suggest adding a little air conditioning. It's perfect, and I hope to return soon. Best regards!
