Hotel Alkazar

The room felt very outdated, and the hairdryer must be about 60 years old. The staff were poor and unfriendly. At the breakfast buffet, the front desk worker grabbed food with his bare hands. He should know better, especially during covid 19. They shouldn’t have a buffet at all, but since they do, they need to use the utensils provided. I wasn’t impressed, and it wasn’t worth the money. Stay at Hotel Albertina instead. Amazing service and breakfast, newly remodeled, and half the price.

There was no security when we came back at 2.00am. We just walked through the front door, with nobody at the desk or in the foyer. The carpet by the room entrance was dirty, there was no bath plug, and the breakfast was basic, with the hot food being dried-out scrambled eggs. Nobody spoke English, though the Wifi was ok. Workmen were drilling, which made an afternoon nap difficult, and we didn’t feel welcomed at the hotel. A bad choice when there are so many others in the centre.

The staff were friendly and the rooms were great. Something was wrong with the beds, though. The mattresses or spring box needed checking or replacing. It wasn’t too uncomfortable, and I was only there for a day.

The beds were comfortable, and the place was clean. Staff were attentive and friendly. Breakfast was a little basic, but still good.
