The lake and mountain views were a lovely backdrop, with fresh air and a peaceful spot to take it all in. We had the recommended platter with cured venison, ham, and salmon, then homemade cake. The food was full of flavor, and the cheesecake and banana-chocolate cake with berries were especially good, rich without being too sweet, with generous portions. Even after traveling widely and trying teas from Asia to South America, I’d say their special blends were the best I’ve had. They were balanced and satisfying, and went beautifully with the food and cakes. The waiters were warm, patient, and easy to talk with, while still giving us room to enjoy the meal at our own pace. Their suggestions were worth following. I’m still thinking about another cup.

We had a very comfortable bed and a lovely patio outside our spacious suite, with the lake in view. The room was spotless, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. Such a nice hidden gem.

The views are splendid, and the cakes are some of the tastiest in San Martín de Los Andes. It’s a lovely spot for tea or coffee. Prices are on the high side, but portions can be shared, and you can take any leftovers with you 😃

Book ahead, but it’s worth every penny if you’re visiting San Martin de los Andes. We ordered a two-tier stand and a fiambre and cheese board for nine people, and still had leftovers.

The Tea House is a lovely way to spend part of the day, with proper tea service, sandwiches, pastries, good music, sweet kitties, and a friendly old dog. The whole place feels warm and homey. At Arraya, we also slept very well in a comfortable king-sized bed and woke up to a glorious view of Lago Lacár. Breakfast was delicious, and Diana kept the hot coffee coming. It’s a delightful break from city life high in the Andes. Thanks to the whole hospitality team, especially Luciano, for a fantastic visit.
