After reading the owner’s reply, I want to be clear that I stand by every word. It was not a “complete lie,” and I don’t post fake reviews. Sometimes the truth hurts. Our family paid top prices during high season, and the stay was dreadful. The “superior” rooms were tiny, there was a musty smell, the toilet kept making noises as if something was wrong with the plumbing, and we had no hot water on one of our two mornings. The Wi-Fi didn’t work, and breakfast was youth-hostel standard. Everything felt old-fashioned, right down to the big wooden keys that are awkward to carry. When I finally spoke to a manager, she got defensive, denied the problems and said she “did not agree” with any of my complaints. That made the poor customer service even more frustrating. In Europe, I think this would be rated one star. I’ve travelled a lot, and this is among the worst places I’ve stayed. How it has so many good reviews is a mystery. I’d tell international visitors to San Martin to spend a bit more and choose somewhere better. There are much better options in town. I would never stay here again, even if someone paid me.

We booked a triple-room upgrade through booking, but were given a double room instead, which wasn’t right. The reception area is cozy and the room was clean and comfortable, apart from the pillows. But it’s not a quiet place to sleep: at 6 a.m. the staff’s breakfast prep brought blender noise, clattering cutlery, chairs and tables scraping, and people talking. You can hear all sorts of noise from nearby rooms at night too. Breakfast was a disaster, and the Wi-Fi didn’t work.

The staff speak English and gave us helpful ideas for how to spend the day in San Martín de los Andes. The location is great, the hotel itself is beautiful, and our room was lovely. Breakfast was tasty too. Highly recommended!

It’s quaint and local, with no fancy extras, and the price felt fair. The room was just what I needed, breakfast was good, and there was safe street parking right outside. As someone who doesn’t speak Spanish, I really appreciated how friendly and helpful everyone was. I had a good stay and would recommend it to people travelling in the area.

The service was so friendly and they helped with everything we asked for. They even let us eat takeaway in the hotel. It’s a cozy place, close to the town’s main shops, and we had a super nice stay. I’d definitely recommend it and would come back if I get the chance.
