Posada San Vicente

We were only there for one night, even though we'd booked four through an app. Two cabins right beside ours were burglarized, so we left after the first night. It was the worst experience. We couldn't reach the owner, and the manager said he wasn't authorized to call him. When we arrived, we had to sign a waiver saying they weren't responsible for anything, and that we'd be fined if we left a light on when we went out. The police investigation kept us there until 4 a.m., and no one from the property came to ask how we were doing. We still haven't received any resolution. I wanted to share this so nobody else has to go through the same thing.

The grounds and pool were genuinely lovely, but the problems inside and around the rooms made our stopover at Posada San Vicente unsatisfactory. In both rooms, only one bedside lamp worked. The ceiling fans were too weak to help with mosquitoes, the kettle only worked in a particular position, the toilet tank kept clogging so we had to use a bucket, and the sink and shower faucets dripped. The air conditioning seemed poorly installed and couldn't cool the area it was meant to cover. The stairs creaked, the windows didn't close properly, and some openings were left unsecured, so the place felt vulnerable. Wi-Fi was very poor, though we had been warned; reviews from previous years mention the same issue, which should have been addressed by now. The lovely surroundings couldn't make up for the maintenance, security, and basic service shortcomings. We were just passing through and wouldn't return.

We planned on three days and stayed six. The facilities were super comfortable, the location was great, and after hiking it was lovely to have really hot water for a much-needed shower. The heating was excellent too. Everything made it easy to relax and enjoy San Rafael.

The sunsets from the property were breathtaking, and we were lucky to have a wonderful stay. It's a great place to get fresh air, relax, and enjoy the views. The Wi-Fi isn't great, as some people have said, but I didn't mind. There were wasps drinking from the pool, which is true, but they didn't sting us when left alone. A large family arrived next to our studio apartment, and we honestly didn't hear them at all. There are courts, games, covered parking, and more. Excellent!
