Los Silos Hotel

The restaurant ranks among the best in Santa Fe, and the service was excellent, which you don't often find in Argentina. The rooms are spacious, with a working indoor jacuzzi and an outdoor rooftop pool that looks out over the city and port. For Argentina, I'd definitely give this hotel five stars.

We had a wonderful lunch at the restaurant, then planned to use the pool, since day passes are offered to people who live in the city. It was over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and my fiancé had paid for a pass before. We went to the top floor to check in and pay. Security and the front desk even brought us up after asking if we were hotel guests and hearing that we weren't. The pool was only half full, and we were excited to cool off. Then we were told day passes weren't accepted on weekends anymore. We asked them to use some common sense since there were only three hours of daylight left. She seemed happy to make us unhappy. We went back down to speak to the receptionist, who was nice but still enforced the rule. It made no practical sense to turn people away when the pool was nowhere near full. Santa Fe seems to want respect as a tourist destination, but that won't happen without better common sense training for people who are willing to pay and would have been so glad for relief from the 100-degree heat.

The only drawback was that the pool was closed, though the hidromasaje and sauna were open. We loved the place, the customer service was excellent, and it's right next to the river. There's a casino too, and it's just a few blocks from the central bus station. Highly recommend it if you're in the area.

The rooms were really nice, and the staff were friendly. It’s in a good spot, with easy parking and a rooftop pool that’s nice to use. A lovely place for a day or even a longer stay.
