Hilton Garden Inn Tucuman

The public spaces have been recently redesigned, while the rooms still have that 90s American Hilton look, with brown everywhere. Not attractive, but clean and comfortable. Breakfast is very good, WiFi works well, and parking feels secure. You could certainly do worse.

Calling them was no use, and the room phone didn't work either, though the staff were excellent and I have no complaints about the human side of things. They gave us a local WhatsApp number for the front desk. My kitten was apparently the first cat to stay at that Hilton. They'd had dogs before, and congratulated us on how quiet my pet was throughout the stay. Meanwhile, lots of kids under 10 ran through the corridors in wet swimsuits. The pool, restaurant and bar are all extremely small, especially for a hotel with a casino that admits outsiders and gives them access to everywhere I've mentioned except the pool. It felt like a privacy and space problem. Room service pricing was outdated too. We thought we were ordering at one price, then paid four times the printed amount, with no explanation. There were barely any signs to guide you around. We arrived by car and nobody greeted us; after figuring out where to go, we carried our own luggage to reception, got a door card and were left to find our way. If you have more than one suitcase, you'll need to fetch it from the car yourself. It was an okay experience, but I later learned on Google Maps that HGI is now a three-star hotel, which I hadn't realized because its rates are the same as the Sheraton in the same city, a five-star hotel. I'd waited a year for this Hilton visit, and I don't feel like going back. I'm just being objective.

A cozy place to rest if that's what you need, and it also works well for a business trip.

The rooms were comfortable and nice, the staff friendly, and there were several places in the complex to get breakfast, lunch or dinner. It had all the familiar features of an American-style Hilton, which I liked.
