Apart Hotel Alem

The place looks different from the photos and is poorly maintained. The kitchen has old, burnt pots and pans, and the bathroom sink is broken with very little light. In the room, the closet is tiny and its doors are broken; the bedding is very old, and the mattress was so uncomfortable that we put a pillow underneath to stop sinking in. Wi-Fi in the upstairs rooms is terrible. Staff didn’t offer answers or solutions, and the supposed parking space only fits a small car. I wouldn’t recommend it, since there are better options for the same price.

The owner was attentive and very kind. The only room I could get wasn’t available because of renovations, but she found a way to help me.

Jorge, the owner, is a good guy. The apart-hotel has a spacious room plus a living room with two beds, a nice bathroom, and a good location. It was very good and well priced. I recommend it.

The best part of staying on an upper floor was the view on both sides: cruise ships on the turquoise sea out front, and snowy mountains behind. The apartment itself didn’t match what the search results or signs said. Breakfast costs extra and has to be ordered ahead, the linens felt unhygienic, and the TV doesn’t work properly with any app. There’s only a tiny bar table for an apartment intended for six, and it barely seats four.
