Ayres del Bosque

The breakfast was the best part for me, and I could get seconds at lunch and dinner, but they never served us meat. On May 25th, a national holiday, we were given a zucchini empanada. The location is beautiful, but some things need attention. On the first day, it was cold and we had to shower with cold water because of maintenance. There’s no elevator to the first floor, though there is Wi-Fi. Room service was poor: they didn’t bring a cloth or change our towels until I asked in person, and then they said they didn’t have any. I hope this feedback is constructive, but I don’t plan to return or recommend the place.

The hotel is mainly somewhere to sleep, with little to do there. The pool is small and there’s no lounge area. Facilities are passable, and our room was comfortable, but it had no Wi-Fi and the sheets and towels were old. Some towels tore easily, and the door made noise because it wasn’t installed properly. Other guests told us their rooms leaked in the rain, had toilets that didn’t work, or showers with very low pressure. Management did arrange room changes for those problems. The dining room was clean and tidy, but breakfast was sometimes served at a hotel a block away, a hassle on rainy days. There was no hot water at the hotel. Most waiters were respectful and helpful, though a small minority rushed us to finish and tried to take our plates.

That patio is spectacular, and the hotel sits right at the foot of the mountains. The food was good and plentiful. Showers worked well, and the pool was clean, though not very large. Wi-Fi could maybe be better since it doesn’t reach the rooms. They have fans, but no air conditioning. Otherwise, very good.

The dining room service is very slow because they’re short-staffed. The waiters are friendly, but clearly overwhelmed. The room was fine, though it could use some maintenance. Service is good overall, and you get what you pay for. It’s one block from the main avenue.
