Hostal La Merced

Sergio was friendly and clear when he showed us around and talked through the options, even though we first got in touch by phone. My girlfriend and I were there on vacation. The room was spacious, though the mattress was quite worn. It was still comfortable enough to sleep on. The patio is beautiful and well kept. The pool was nice, but the water wasn't in good condition when we arrived; they cleaned it afterward. I'd definitely come back if I return to Villa General Belgrano.

It's a lovely, quiet spot, very close to the center, just half a block away. The tree-lined pool is beautiful, but the water was so freezing that it was impossible to get in, which makes having a pool pointless. Wi-Fi doesn't reach the last cabin, and the refrigerator was broken and looked dirty.

The grounds and pool are huge and amazing, and the staff were fantastic. My room had everything I needed, including a mini-fridge and air conditioning, and I even got a balcony and grill. Breakfast wasn't included. The Wi-Fi never worked, which is unacceptable these days, so I had to pay extra for a data plan.

The park is spacious and beautiful, and the place is only two blocks from the center. Still, we were disappointed and wouldn't return or recommend it. We felt undervalued, especially with the pool and other features seeming to be set up only for a large group. We went in October and asked for a room for four, but got a studio apartment with nowhere to put our clothes. The double bed sheets were too small and hung off the mattress, and they had tears and stains. The foam mattresses sank, so sleeping was difficult. The pool was badly neglected, with a green bottom and rubbish floating on top. I had to clear some of it myself before getting in. They only tidied it up a little the day before a large group arrived. They said the pool attendant handled maintenance, but we never saw him during our four days there, and it seemed they hadn't even called him before we arrived. Breakfast was very good and the staff were impeccable, but they were VERY UNDERSTAFFED with so many tasks to handle.
