Hotel Dos Reyes

For a two-star hotel, the rooms don't seem to be in terrible shape, but the rest was disappointing. The staff seemed unwilling to help and weren't trained. Breakfast was poor, served to you rather than self-serve, and even arrived lukewarm. The Wi-Fi was useless: even with the router in my room, I couldn't get a signal. Dust and grime inside the fan meant it barely moved air.

We were there for just 10 minutes before deciding the room was unacceptable. The toilet wouldn't flush, the bed was stained, the closets were falling apart, cobwebs and bugs covered the walls, and the fan was filthy. I could keep listing problems. This hotel shouldn't be allowed to take guests. I understand it's a two-star place, but it wasn't functional. We asked reception for a refund, but the receptionist didn't know anything and didn't even have a computer. When you have a problem, nobody seems able to help; everyone acts like they know nothing. We waited three hours for Dixon, who managed the Booking.com website. He didn't answer the receptionist's calls. He was meant to be back in a few minutes, but never showed up. They clearly didn't refund our stay. We also saw some pretty strange behavior from other guests, which made it an unsuitable place for children. I absolutely don't recommend this establishment. EVERYTHING WAS UNACCEPTABLE.

The location is good, in a great area and only two blocks from the beach. The rooms are okay but nothing special, and the sheets and towels were a bit dirty. Breakfast was two croissants, a roll and coffee with milk. During my stay, four young men were working in shifts. One of the managers was quite annoying, staring at us in a way that made us uncomfortable and constantly asking for our phone numbers. I wouldn't recommend going if you're a woman traveling alone or with friends!

We expected less after reading the reviews, but the hotel and service pleasantly surprised us. The reception and cleaning staff were friendly and provided excellent service. Breakfast was better than expected too, with coffee, milk or tea and fresh, tasty little pastries and croissants. The room was spotless when we arrived, though they didn't clean it during our stay. That didn't bother us. The rooms were a little small, but fine for the price.
