The snorkeling was great, but the beach itself was dirty. The hotel felt run down, and my room was dirty too. The water was only lukewarm and barely had any pressure. They even charged $5 for a bottle of water at the restaurant. Don’t stay here!

You can catch the local bus right across the street for $1-$2 each way. Many buses go to both ends of the island, so just ask the driver. The hotel sits on the main cross-island road and makes a great starting point for exploring American Samoa. The decor is a bit dated, but the location, beach, pool, and restaurant are all very nice. Starlink internet is fast and mostly reliable.

Finding beaches with public access wasn’t easy for me, so this place felt like a little slice of heaven. The sunrise was beautiful. The rooms are a little dated, as some reviews mention, but if you’re spending all your time in the room, you might have other problems… The restaurant on site was great for breakfast and lunch. I absolutely loved this place, and if I make it back to the island, I’ll only stay here!

The room was unclean, with dirty, worn-out sheets and blankets, and the whole place smelled awful. Everywhere seemed poorly maintained. It’s truly disappointing to see how far this hotel has fallen from what it once was. I stayed in June 2025 for a short overnight layover on my way back to the States, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. It seems the owners care more about collecting money than putting money into maintenance or renovations. If they can’t look after the property, maybe it’s time to close it. It’s a shame, and a poor reflection on the island for visiting tourists. 🤦🏼♂️🫣🙈

We stayed at Sadie's By the Sea for 3 nights in Pago Pago. The location was stunning, and Goat Island Cafe was a great restaurant. The property is older and needs some TLC, but it comfortably covered the basics: a clean, comfortable bed, a nice hot shower, and new, cold AC.
