Alpbach Bergwald Apartments

We stayed at Bergwald Appartments from Feb 11th to 18th, in the wonderful Hackler studio on the ground level. It had everything we could want for a comfortable stay. The place was spotless, quiet, and spacious, with an amazing valley view. The beds were really comfortable, the shower was powerful, and there was plenty of wardrobe space. It was lovely to eat and relax at the dining table. The large storage area for ski boots and skis was really convenient. Katharina showed us the infared sauna and steam room when we arrived, which was a nice touch, though we didn’t use them. We were skiing during the day and enjoyed the village each evening. Katharina is such a lovely owner. She welcomed us warmly and explained about the local area and Alpbach, including how to use the little ski bus to get to the ski area and back. She was always available if we needed anything, although everything was so fabulous that we never had to contact her. Whenever we saw her, she was friendly. She even left a flower in our room and wished us a happy Valentines Day. On our last day of skiing, we found two large cakes she’d left on the dining table. They were very tasty, thank you! It’s a pretty area with great connections for skiing, and the village is really nice. We got our provisions at the local Spar supermarket. We also visited Postalm many times, a fabulous family orientated bar with a nice atmosphere, often busy, and professional, friendly staff. Bergwald Appartments are a must for anyone considering a winter or summer holiday in Alpbach. It’s situated about a 20-minute walk from the village, up high enough to look over the beautiful valley. We really enjoyed walking to and from the village. Katharina, thank you for your wonderful hospitality. You were the perfect hostess, and your home is beautiful. I've had another wonderful stay at the Bergwald Apartments. The views are beautiful, it’s easy living, and the host, Katharina, is so wonderful. There are lots of trails and other adventures close by, and much of the time you don’t even need a car. Just step outside and get going. When you come back, your room is put back in order, and sometimes there’s a little treat waiting, like chocolate. This time I made good use of the kitchen, cooking several meals to eat on the huge west-facing balcony. The sunsets from there are stunning! After four nights, I asked Katharina if I could stay another three, and I could! I cancelled the rest of my vacation and stayed here instead. It was so worth it. The only bad part was having to leave. Leaving the Bergwald always seems to come too soon :)

We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this beautiful accommodation. Katharina was amazing, kind, and pleasant.

The location is great and the view is amazing. We loved this clean, spacious apartment for our family. Katharina is such a warm, wonderful hostess, and nothing was too much trouble for her. My daughter is still talking about her.
