Appartements Moahof

I've known Iggy and Manuela and their family for over a decade, and have stayed at several of their places. The rooms are always clean and welcoming, with lovely views, and they've always been hospitable. It's very good value right in the village centre. No complaints at all, I'd recommend it.

Room 4 is a spacious one-bedroom apartment on the top, third floor, with a balcony and lovely views. It has everything for a self-catering stay: oven, hob, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, full fridge, dishwasher, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, and a good supply of hangers. The Wi-Fi is strong enough for streaming. The only awkward bit is the sloping roof over the toilet, where a particularly tall person could bump their head. The host was welcoming, speaks very good English, and made sure we had what we needed for a comfortable stay. The property is in the heart of the village, conveniently opposite the Tourist Information centre. One thing to plan for: if you arrive late on Saturday, after 6:00 pm, the village's only supermarket will be closed, and it doesn't open on Sundays. Bring some groceries or pick them up on the way.

The location is excellent, right in the town centre, and my children could walk to the nearby small ski hill. Our two-bedroom apartment was spacious and clean, with plenty of daylight, though it felt a little dark at night. I’m giving it two stars because the customer service was poor. When the apartment door lock broke, we were blamed straight away and repeatedly told, “I hope you have good insurance because this is going to be expensive.” They said it had never happened before, implying it must be our fault. We were locked out for about two hours at 9pm, and my wife and children went to a friend’s place until it was sorted. I understand that things can go wrong and people get stressed, but in a customer-facing business I’d expect the problem to be dealt with first, without blaming the guest. For context, we’d left a key in the inside cylinder when we went out one day. When we tried the second key to get back in, the cylinder just spun. The apartment representative and I tried other locks in the building, and they wouldn’t let the outside key work if there was a key in the inside cylinder. My understanding is that the lock was designed that way, and somehow that feature malfunctioned on ours.

We had a fully equipped 90m2 apartment with a mountain view, and the owners were great. Excellent in every way.
