After a long trek, I could’ve fallen asleep anywhere, so the room being the smallest I’ve had on this tour didn’t matter much. In the morning I noticed they have larger rooms, including a two-room suite, so I’m raising my rating. We had dinner at the restaurant, and the food was amazing, easily five-plus stars. The young server was so warm, friendly, and charming. If I were younger, I’d have been blushing, lol. Quite the catch!

After a stroll around the lake, we stopped here for a wonderful lunch. The food was amazing and seasonal. Highly recommended.

We came for Christmas dinner at Gasthof zum Hirschen, not for a hotel stay. The fresh regional trout and lamb crowns are well worth recommending. The Neumann Family made us feel welcome and were warm-hearted, while serving without intruding. The Austrian hunting lodge style inside gave the place a cozy, warm feel.
