Hotel Schneeweiss

We booked six nights for our family of four, including children aged 4 and 9, but were given a three-bed room with no extra bed and charged for all four of us. The owner said our four-year-old should share the French bed with us, even though it had two separate single mattresses. That made no sense, and he couldn't provide an extra bed. There wasn't an extra pillow, blanket, or towel either, and he seemed to ignore that we were four while still charging for our younger child. Eventually he said he'd bring a spare mattress for the floor. We waited until 10 p.m., but it never arrived. He seemed quite drunk, which may explain why. When we tried to leave the next morning, he charged us an extra 60 euros for the one-night stay. After all the trouble, I think that was outrageous. We just wanted to get out quickly, so we didn't argue further, but I definitely can't recommend this place.

The room was spacious, with a lake view and comfortable beds, and the bathroom was gorgeous and spotless. Breakfast was perfect, dinner was five-star, and I'd recommend booking half board. We also liked the pool area. There’s a farm with lots of different animals to watch, a lovely way to enjoy the Austrian countryside and nature. We had a great, relaxing holiday near the lake.

I stayed for three weeks in August, and everything went perfectly. The staff were kind and efficient, and my room was clean and comfortable. For a 3-star hotel, it was better than some 5-star places I've stayed. Thanks so much for a great stay!
