Salzburgerhof

The waiting staff were lovely and a real credit to the hotel. My daughter and I had a good week here after booking through Crystalski. We were half board, and both breakfast and dinner had plenty of variety and were enjoyable. The hotel is right in the centre of this quiet town; we walked seven minutes to the main ski lift, though there’s also a short bus ride. Our room, 204, was a decent size, clean, and well kept. I’d have given another star if there’d been a bar or lounge where we could sit and relax.

The restaurant was excellent, and we had both breakfast and dinner there. Our room was upgraded, which was lucky, and the hotel itself feels modern and comfortable. The elevators stop between floors, so you’ll need to use some stairs either way. There’s no wellness area, though Alpentherme is just a few minutes’ walk away.

We spent three nights here over New Year’s Eve in Bad Hofgastein. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and we had a nice stay despite our extremely tiny room. There’s nowhere else in the hotel to sit apart from the restaurant. The ski room has an outside entrance, and the ski bus to the slopes is only 20 meters away. Breakfast was fine, but the selection felt repetitive after two days. I’d recommend this place if being centrally located matters to you.

The service was quick, friendly, and efficient, and the food was tasty and nicely presented, with traditional Austrian dishes given some modern touches. It’s a traditional Austrian hotel that’s been updated in a tasteful, stylish way, and it’s immaculately clean.
