For just one night, it worked well as a stopover. Breakfast was good, though at busy times the queue for the coffee machine got so long that a second one would have helped. The rooms are sparsely furnished and felt a bit overpriced. I hadn't expected a traditional hotel: this seems to be student accommodation for the tourism school next door, with dorm-style rooms and desks for studying. I suspect they rent them out during school holidays. The staff gave me the impression they were training for hotel work.

A really quiet spot in the evening, a little way from the main town. If you're there for sports or after being on the slopes, it's an excellent place to sleep, with a perfect breakfast and all you could wish for.

The price is a big plus, probably hard to beat in this area, and there is free parking, though the lot was pretty full during our stay. Some people parked along the road outside it and all of them got tickets by morning. The place is more like a boarding school dormitory used in summer than a hotel. Our room was large but very student-like, with a tiny cage-like bathroom and no TV. The balcony was a definite advantage. Staff were pleasant, but the breakfast buffet didn't excite us, though we may be spoiled. It's on the edge of the village, right below the Katrin cable car, so it's a great base for hikes in the mountains above the city. The center of Bad Ischen is still a bit farther away.

The other guests were the part that really annoyed me: there were lots of German pensioners, and they seemed arrogant and rude, with poor manners. There was one coffee pot for the whole breakfast area, and people would take it to their table for half an hour. As for the accommodation, booking completely failed to mention that this is an internate used as a hotel in summer. It would be a poor hotel, but for an internate housing tourists, it was good, much better than internates in my home country.

Reminded me a bit of a dorm, but I loved it. Such kind staff, unlike anyone I've met anywhere. Great experience 😁
