Hotel Kolmhof

The hotel’s hospitality was great, and the food and location were both very good. We had a good ski holiday here. The kids loved the pool, though it’s a shame they couldn’t use the sauna.

We were completely satisfied, even though the sheets and bed linen weren’t quite right at first. The issue was sorted out quickly, with an apology. We hadn't expected the food and service to be this good, the cuisine was unbelievably excellent. Unlimited use of the hotel's wellness area and outdoor pool is included in the stay price too. What more could you ask for!

The hotel is definitely not worth four stars in my view. The rooms were acceptable and clean, but there was some noise, especially from the old fan. Dinner offered three choices, meat, fish or vegetarian, but was mostly take-out food. The internet hotspot was frustrating: all our devices, IOS, android and windows, had random connection problems, and the landing page wouldn't appear when we reconnected. The ski locker was just an unsecured room. We didn't lose any equipment, but it wasn't reassuring to leave all our skis there, especially since the hotel says it isn't responsible for anything missing. They say to go to reception with any issues, but when we complained in person, management ignored us. A woman who introduced herself as “from the team” yelled at some children in the kids' room until they cried. We reported it to reception and were brushed off. If you're staying with kids, be careful around the hotel kids' room. The elevator was quite old and small, and the thing that bothered us most was that it only goes up to the 3’rd floor, even though the hotel has 4’th floors. Pay attention if you're given a room on the 4’th floor.

I've stayed in over 20 hotels in Austria, and this one stands out. The staff were lovely, the breakfast and dinner were excellent, and there was a large heated pool. I didn't run into any problems during the whole week. An "Amazing" vacation, in one word. Thanks to Kolmhof.
