Wohlfühl & Genusshotel Felsenhof - Ihr 4* Hotel In Bad Kleinkirchheim, Kärnten

The hotel was very clean, and the food was wonderful. What upset me was the family at the next table, who came into the restaurant each evening coughing and sneezing loudly. The father blew his nose noisily into dinner napkins taken from the table, and the staff didn’t step in. I was angry each night because their coughing and racket spoiled our dinner. I wondered if they might have had COVID or another infectious illness, and felt they didn’t care about the rest of us. A few days later, our whole family was sick too.

That’s three stays at Hotel Felsenhof for me now, and I’ve loved every one. It’s a great spot to relax, with friendly, welcoming staff, a lovely view, comfortable beds, and modern rooms. The pool is a nice place to unwind, and free drinks are available there. The food is a real highlight, from breakfast through dinner. It’s delicious, and they’ve recently started offering fresh juice. If you want to see more of Carinthia, the daily Felsenhof News is helpful for planning. The one drawback is the Wi-Fi. It doesn’t reach some of the rooms. I hardly minded, since the peaceful atmosphere made it easy to put my phone away.

Bad Kleinkirchheim itself is great, and the food at the hotel was good, though it didn’t really wow us. The hotel was okay by Austrian standards, but it gave us the impression they were trying to cut costs. There was no fresh juice, and the advertised manicure wasn’t available because they hadn’t hired anyone for it.

The rooms were a real highlight, spacious, clean, comfortable, and nicely done. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the family hotel had a lovely atmosphere.
