Hotel Sacher Baden

We spent four nights in this pleasant city and would recommend it for a relaxing, fun trip. The hotel is in a lovely, peaceful spot, with beautiful interiors and clean, comfortable rooms. The staff were kind and welcoming, and we appreciated their service. The food was freshly prepared and good, and breakfast had a nice selection. We’d return next time we travel here.

The portions at lunch were generous, and the service was friendly. I really liked the coffee too. I’d definitely recommend it.

The room needed a better clean, with crumbs on the chair and a floor that should have been swept. The shower also drained badly and spilled over onto the floor. On the plus side, breakfast was excellent, and the complimentary drinks, slippers, and toiletries were nice.

I’d stayed here several times since 2016 and always had a good experience, until my visit in December 2021. At checkout, I specifically asked whether there were any extra charges, and the manager said no. A week after I left, the hotel sent a bill with odd charges, including calls from the room that I never made. It seemed like a management mix-up. Mistakes can happen, and they could have called to check with me. Instead, they contacted my business travel agency with what I believe was an incorrect bill and shared my sensitive personal data without my consent. That was handled in a very careless way. Breakfast was poor for a hotel of this class. At 8 a.m. on my first morning, I had to search around for someone because the kitchen was empty. Stay away.
