Hotel Valavier

Over the years, so much has happened here that I'll never forget. I love everyone here.

We came on the spur of the moment for Easter weekend 2024, and looking back, this may be my favorite hotel ever. From arrival, the reception staff treated us like royalty, greeting us with the biggest, genuine smiles, a drink, and a tour of the facilities. Our room was a good size for our family of four, with two double beds and clean, modern facilities. We were thrilled to find an infrared sauna too. The weather wasn't great, so we made full use of everything indoors and out. We tried the spa and both the indoor and outdoor pools, and loved looking at the old antiques, especially the vintage telephones that still work. We also hiked around the area and took in the spectacular scenery. It was all wonderful and heartwarming. We met the healthy, happy rabbits and chickens, and enjoyed the children's outdoor play area and the lovingly tended gardens. There's a fantastic indoor space for children, with creative activities and sports for kids who want to play football or table tennis, as well as an indoor pool table and bowling alley. Luca leads it wonderfully. We ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the hotel restaurant. The staff were welcoming and cheerful at every meal, and you could taste the care that goes into the food. Thank you to Thomas. In the evenings, dinner was four or five delicious courses. On Easter Sunday, we arrived at breakfast to find a homemade giant Easter egg, even more chocolate, and traditional bread with a painted egg. The attention to detail was second to none. Every day brought a surprise and made us happy, thanks to the family and staff who run the hotel. The hotel is so unique, with all the luxury you could want for families, children, couples, and others, alongside its lovely, carefully curated charm and history. Everywhere you look, it feels like home, with the family's care coming through in the service, food, scenery, and facilities. It's just perfect. Breakfast through dinner was a real highlight, with plenty of choice, vegan options, and everything served to a high standard. The staff were welcoming, and the spa made for a lovely place to unwind when the weather wasn't right for the mountains. The ski lift is only about a three-minute walk away. We stayed for a weekend ski trip and really liked the hotel. We'll be back.

We stopped for lunch during an excursion, without staying overnight. There was a good range of local dishes to choose from. The terrace was pleasant too, as long as it wasn't windy. We had a good time.
