Hotel Walliserstube

One of the best restaurants I can remember. The food was excellent, though the menu isn't cheap. Our waitress, veronika, was especially helpful and nice!

We spent a week here in summer, and our dinners were the day's highlight every time. The dishes were creative and perfectly cooked. There's plenty of natural beauty nearby, and the room came with a Bregenzerwald Pass, giving us free access to the ski lifts that operate in summer. The hotel was spotlessly clean, with clean, well-maintained saunas. The family-run owner was always around, smiling and helpful. The one downside for us was the parking garage, which felt too small, though there are lots of free spaces by the ski lift less than 20 metres away. One thing to know about the saunas: you may encounter naked German seniors. I'd definitely return.

We just visited for a lunch break, so can't speak to the hotel, though it looks very inviting. The restaurant is right beside the valley station of the Uga chairlift, directly on the ski slope. It feels cozy and traditionally furnished, and we got a very warm welcome with extremely friendly service. The food was excellent. It isn't cheap, but still reasonable.

We came by for a casual drink after a day of skiing, not for apres ski, but didn't feel very welcome. While we were still drinking, they brought the check out of nowhere without asking whether we wanted another. I was there with my husband and my parents.
