Eee Hotel Eberstalzell

We had an apartment for three people, and the room was a good size, with a kitchenette, table for four, small fridge, and a coffee machine with coffee and tea capsules. It was on the side away from the motorway, and we could open the windows; nighttime noise was fairly low. A good place to rest after a day of driving before setting off again the next day.

The parking lot is big and convenient, and check-in was seamless and completely self-serve. Burger King across the street doesn't open until 10am, which felt quite late. We were there for one August night at €99. The room looked beautiful, sleek and modern, and had what we needed except a way to cool it down. We were on the sixth floor. The little thermostat beside the door did nothing, there was no fan, and the large window wouldn't open. I had to blow dry and straighten my long hair, and ended up literally sitting in a puddle of my own sweat to get through it. The other half of our party had a bigger room on the fifth floor. They said their windows were smaller, but opened. I know Austria was in a heat wave, but we felt helpless with no way to deal with the heat and didn't sleep very well. I shared the room only with my husband, but if you're with friends or someone you're less close to, the toilet sounds and what you can see in the shower could be awkward. Both doors are somewhat see-through and don't block sound 😆

The rooms are spacious, modern, and practical, though pretty simple. There are lots of EV chargers right in front, and you can check yourself in and out.

I want to start with what worked well: the room was nicely furnished, with excellent beds, bedding, and duvets that felt really high quality. The shower was clean and comfortable, and breakfast, which we paid for with the stay, was more or less good. We were satisfied with those parts. We arrived yesterday with our dog and had booked the most expensive room for one night because we had a long journey and just needed to rest. Instead, a man from the restaurant staff kept telling me to leash my dog. He'd just traveled 800 km, is absolutely non-conflict, and came straight through the entrance to the elevator. I found the repeated attention extremely unpleasant, especially since it wasn't a polite greeting. We aren't German, I don't understand German, but he kept speaking German to me. Hotel staff should know English, and apparently he didn't. Each time he saw me, I felt harassed, and got so frustrated I was close to confronting him and telling him to stop. We came to rest, not deal with an employee's problems. I thought the hotel welcomed dogs. If dogs going to the elevator are an issue, the hotel should simply not accept them, and I wouldn't have booked here. There was nobody available at reception, and the staff seemed unfriendly. This morning they were somewhat kinder and left me alone, which I appreciated. I rate the hotel four stars, taking off one for the staff's behavior. I hope this was just one individual's failure.
