Zugspitz Resort

I love everything about this place, especially the staff, the food, and the wine cellar. Zugspitz Resort is my favourite hotel and my go-to ski resort. There’s nothing I can criticise.

The staff were consistently kind and helpful, and the reception and restaurant look beautiful and are kept in great shape. We also found the children’s pool complex fantastic, especially on rainy days, and the on-site shop was handy for bread and other essentials. The camper van area didn’t match the rest of the resort. Its grass and gravel sections felt poorly laid out and a bit neglected; more greenery and clearer boundaries would help. The spa works, but feels dated, as if it’s part of the old hotel and hasn’t been modernized. Other hotels nearby have mountain views from their spas, so this felt like a missed opportunity. We enjoyed our stay thanks to the staff and main facilities. Some work on the spa and camper area could make this a five-star destination. Recommended for families with children and anyone wanting a convenient base with good facilities.

The restaurant was nice and big, and the hotel itself was gorgeous. There was a cute play area for kids, too. I ordered a calzone and it was HUGE. See photo and hand for scale 😂

The luxury kids’ pool was a real plus, and the huge play area had a cinema and climbing wall. We also loved the lantern walk. For the price, though, we found a few things really disappointing: the bar service was unfriendly, the camping ski locker was too small, unheated, and poorly located, and the shop had very limited food, with mostly toys.
