During our cycling trip across Austria, we stayed for a day and had a wonderful buffalo steak that evening. The room and breakfast were just right, and the staff were attentive and friendly. Keep it up!

I’m reviewing the restaurant only. After plenty of visits, the quality has never slipped. The kitchen, service, and organization seem to keep aiming for perfection, and everything from the decor and drinks to the dishes, portions, and atmosphere works so well. You get good value for your money here. Hasewend is a real hidden gem in Eibiswald, with a clear sense of what it does well. Definitely recommended.

Our family has eaten here several times, and the bright, comfortable conservatory is a favorite. There are often little touches that pleasantly surprise us. The excellent chef serves dishes that are delicious and lovely to look at, at quite reasonable prices for the set menu. Prices are usually around average, sometimes a little above average for the region. Special soups and desserts and a good non-alcoholic beer round out the mains nicely. I haven't tried the wines. The staff are friendly, pleasant, attentive without hovering, and very well trained, despite their foreign accents. They happily handle special requests. Once we called about a dessert that was no longer on the menu, and they promised to make it for us. That kind of service is rare. You really do feel like the customer is king here. We weren't especially keen on the beef, though we thought it was the house specialty. Maybe it's the slightly different flavor of the otherwise much-praised bison? Other guests seem to love the steaks. Our family has enjoyed the fried or grilled chicken salad, veal wieners, pork wieners, and the kids' burger platter. The cinema, which is unusual around here and we hope stays, is very good, as are the butcher shop with its many regional products, the bar, and the beer garden. We’re looking forward to another visit, even with some good competition around Eibiswald, and to trying more from the extensive menu.

We come back every year with friends. It's a romantic inn with comfortable rooms, good food, and friendly staff. We highly recommend it, it's simply superb. The property has been sold, so we don't know anything new about it.
