There’s no lift, and the small room is on the second floor by the main road, so traffic kept making noise through the night. It was too hot with the windows shut, but opening them made the noise worse. There was no air conditioning or fan. The bathroom and toilet are shared facilities in the corridor, so you can run into other guests right after you’ve finished getting cleaned up.

The bed was comfortable, and breakfast was good with enough to eat. The room was clean, though traffic outside made it a bit noisy. The owner was really kind and helpful. It’s at the edge of Emmersdorf, with Melk nearby.

The owner gave us a fascinating introduction to Lower Austria’s history and culture, and breakfast was fantastic, including eggs from their own chickens. We’d booked two nights at Haus Egger while cycling the Danube Cycle Path and were very happy with the stay. The room was simple, but just right for cyclists. We’d gladly return.

After cycling from Passau to Vienna, we had a lovely rest here. The bright rooms were clean and right by the Danube, and the service was friendly. Breakfast was excellent, with really good ingredients. Mr. Egger also shared helpful ideas for restaurants and excursions. Thanks, and keep it up!
