Hotel Berggasthof Schwaighofwirt

It was okay.

The restaurant is a welcome bonus, and the hotel sits in a quiet area. The rooms are fine, though the bowling alley below can be heard late into the night. If you’re given a first-floor room and came to relax, that noise is a real downside. The second-floor rooms might be more modest and lack balconies, but they’re much quieter and more peaceful.

The food was top-notch, and so was the way guests were treated. I stayed with Hansi and Petra for about four months on a business trip, and as a Carinthian I felt completely accepted. The inn has a real family feel, and they do their best to meet guests’ wishes. The regulars are always having a good time. We laughed and cried, drank and played games. The landlady and Lena were amazing, too. And Hubsi and his guitarist sing guests to sleep in the evenings, only joking! The service was top-notch as well. Hi everyone! 👌🤣🤣

I can’t say if hunger had anything to do with it, but I thought the food was excellent. This is a small hotel in the green mountains, with a character that suits the area. The rooms are compact but clean, including the bathroom, and seem to have been renovated recently. From the entrance, you walk into a lounge and dining room furnished with distinctive wooden tables.
