The spa has an indoor pool that connects to the outdoor one, a large sauna, several showers, and loungers and chairs for relaxing. Towels are included. The room was comfortable and clean, and both breakfast and dinner were excellent. Dinner included a salad and dessert buffet every day. On some days we chose a meat, fish, or vegetarian main from a menu in the morning; on others, the main dishes and desserts were served buffet-style. We arrived early and were able to park our cars and use ski lockers near the lift. The hotel is about 700 meters from the ski lift, with a bit of an uphill walk on the way back. Keep in mind that lots of families stay here, so there may be children in the spa, restaurant, and hotel bar, especially during school holidays.
The breakfast and dinner were lovely, and the staff were nice. Most spoke mainly English and not much German, which was fine for us. We were four friends sharing an apartment for two nights. It had one bedroom and a large, comfortable sofa bed, plus a huge balcony. We didn’t cook, so can’t comment on the kitchen equipment, but we liked having the coffee pod machine. The wellness area felt far too small for such a large hotel. By early afternoon, there were no loungers left by either the pool or spa. We’d have liked another pool in the adults only area, since the pool was overrun with children, though we were there during school holidays. There was no background music in those areas, either. The water felt too cold, and even though it read 32.5C, we could only stay in the pool for about 10 min before getting cold.
The location was lovely, and the staff were nice. We were eight people in one of the self-catered chalets for a running race, and cooking meals there was difficult because the kitchen was VERY limited. There wasn’t even salt, pepper, oil, kitchen roll, or similar basics. We did book the hotel breakfast after the race, though, and that was lovely.
Finding a parking space was difficult, even in June before the holiday season, despite the daily fee, so bear that in mind. Otherwise, this is a modern, clean, family-friendly hotel with spacious rooms and very good amenities, including indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, and a kids’ room. The staff are warm and welcoming, and breakfast has plenty of choice. It’s nestled in the mountains, close to the cable car for easy access to the summit.
Before starting kat100, I stayed here to get ready for the race, and it had everything I could want as an athlete. I’m elite and picky, and I was happy with the clean, nourishing, tasty food, including vegan and gluten free options. The room felt cosy and home-like, with very little noise. I also made good use of the pool and sauna. I’d absolutely recommend it and hope to return.
