Haus Gappmaier

You get such a warm welcome here, and it’s really child-friendly. Our son already calls Melitta “Grandma.” If we’re back in the area for a holiday, we’ll definitely stay with the Gappmeier family.

We booked an apartment so we could cook for ourselves sometimes, and it had everything we needed. It was clean and well equipped. The family-run house is in a lovely, quiet spot at the edge of Filzmoos, with a view of the Bischofsmütze mountain and close to the path to the Hofalmen alpine pastures. The hosts are friendly, polite, and capable. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back!

A beautiful house with lovely mountain views from the windows, and such a peaceful place to relax. The hosts are wonderful, hospitable people who clearly belong here. Breakfast was delicious, served with a smile, and there was always plenty. I recommend it to anyone looking for quiet, relaxation, beautiful scenery, and a pleasant family atmosphere.

The best part of our two weeks at Haus Gappmaier was how welcome my 1¾-year-old daughter was. Mr. and Mrs. Gappmaier were so kind to her, without treating a toddler like a nuisance because children can be noisy or messy. We’ve travelled with her before and haven’t always felt that kind of warmth. They also provided a crib and a high chair that attached to the table. Our apartment was clean and had everything we needed. When we found we were missing a large casserole dish, Mrs. Gappmaier even lent us one from her own kitchen. We also booked breakfast. There was a good variety, including homemade jams and spreads, cheeses and cold cuts, and Mrs. Gappmaier kept checking if we wanted anything else. They’re genuinely warm, friendly, hospitable people. If we return to the Filzmoos area, we’d happily stay with the Gappmaier family again.
