Faaker See Inn

We paid 272 Euros for one night, so I expected a serious effort to address the problems, but nothing was corrected and no alternative was offered. This was despite my immediate complaint to the receptionist and by email. When I booked by phone, I had specifically asked for a room with few stairs because there's no elevator and my elderly mum was with me. I was told there'd be only 18 stairs and that the room was on the first floor. Instead, we got a room on the second floor, as far as possible from the stairs. Fortunately, my mum somehow managed. Room 25 had no separate bathroom. The toilet was inside the room behind a sliding door, with no external ventilator, and the open shower had see-through glass facing the main room. There was also no air conditioning or fridge, and the price felt shameless for the service provided. If all you want is a nice view of Faaker Lake and a decent breakfast, and you don't mind whether you're getting fair value, you might still have a good experience.

We stayed in a roomy, clean suite/apartment, with a balcony and a beautiful lake view from one of the rooms. It seems to have been two rooms with a shared bathroom and toilet, now cut off from the rest of the floor by a door. The old building has been updated into a modern, fairly classy hotel. There's a restaurant and terrace that looked very nice, though we didn't get to try either. Reception isn't staffed after 4pm, but there's a self-service fridge with beer, wine and sodas.

The shower was pretty broken, and breakfast wasn't the best. Still, it's a beautiful hotel with nice staff, and we had a very good time. It's close to the water, with an awesome view of Faaker-see. :)

The views are nice, but we found it expensive for what you get. Most restaurants nearby were closed when we visited in late September. Despite being called an inn, the place doesn't have a bar or restaurant.
