Haus am Wald

Our apartment had two bathrooms, and we loved the location and the pool. The owner was amazing. It’s a perfect base for exploring everything around Faaker See.

We return to Haus am Wald every year and always enjoy our stay. The location makes it easy to get to lots of mountains and other places, and there’s parking and internet access.

After about 35 years, this region feels like a second home to us. We wanted somewhere dog-friendly around Lake Faak for the first time in years, but staying right by the lake wasn’t an option, so we looked a little farther away and eventually chose Haus am Wald online. Nadja was super friendly and helpful, and we could walk straight into the woods with our dog. There’s a pool, a spacious garden, bread roll service, and the surroundings are wonderfully quiet. We stayed on the top floor, and the stairs were easy for the dog. In the early morning, deer even wander through the garden. Residents of Ledenitzen can access Lake Faak via the beach, about a 20-minute walk or 10-minute bike ride away. The shower in our apartment was very small. Unless you’re Olive, as an adult you can’t turn around without hitting something. There’s also no air conditioning, and on some nights over 30 degrees Celsius it was too hot. Haus am Wald would definitely be an option if we return to this region.

We’ll be back. It’s a peaceful oasis close to many attractions, with a clean, nice apartment and a helpful, friendly host. Excellent value for money, too.
