Seehäuschen Alpenzauber

The veranda might have been pleasant, but everything there was sticky enough to pull your shoes off. The advertised view of the Karawanken mountains was barely visible, and the whole accommodation smelled awful, maybe of paint or mold. We stayed four nights and paid €478, despite bringing our own dish towel, bath towels, and bed linen. The agent who took the rent, Mr. XXX, showed me his own 56-square-meter apartment, which he rented for €460 for four nights. He seemed surprised too. The listing never gave the size. I’d estimate about 12 square meters excluding the bathroom, with the “living room,” “kitchen,” “entrance hall,” and “closet” all in that space. The bathroom had a toilet, sink, and shower, but the shower was moldy. Cleanliness throughout was poor, and I’d be happy to provide photos. I was drawn in by the well-done photos and what looked like an affordable offer, but the price and what you get are completely out of balance. I also had to pay 30 cents per kilowatt-hour for electricity. I had no idea KELAG charged that much. I’ve been going to Lake Faak three or four times each summer for years and have never had an experience like this. We live in a tourist area too, in the Kitzbühel district, and nobody could make a living renting out places like this because guests wouldn’t come back. I contacted the landlord and got no reply, which felt fitting. I can’t even give this one star. Not recommended at all.
