The rooms were clean, but the Wi-Fi was slow and breakfast was below average. This doesn't feel suited to a family ski holiday, as there are no activities or shared spaces, just the reception and rooms. The restaurant is separate from the hotel, and you pay after every dinner. In high season, book a table before arriving. For getting around, it's one ski bus stop from Achter Jet or about a 500 m walk, and roughly 15 minutes on foot to Flachau center.

We slept really well here, nine hours, which I loved. The rooms are new and clean, with perfect beds. Great breakfast and top service too. The location is perfect, very close to ski activities. Recommend staying here!

This was our sixth stay at Hotel Matteo, so that probably says enough about how good it is. This time, the receptionist deserves special praise for doing everything she could to help when our car broke down and wouldn't start the morning we were due to head home. The guys at the nearby service towed it to their workshop and repaired it, so we made it back to Dubrovnik happily. I'd highly recommend Hotel Matteo and Paularei restaurant. The food is great, and the staff are among the best I've met.

The parking at the hotel and restaurant was a complete mess. The lot was covered in snow, making it very difficult to find a clear, safe place to park. It felt as if management had neglected to clear it, putting guests at risk. The breakfast buffet was just as disappointing. On the last day, a Sunday when no supermarket was open, I made sandwiches for my kids for the long drive home and was willing to pay. The waitress gave me a condescending look and made loud, snide remarks. I was shocked by how disrespectfully a paying guest was treated. That kind of rudeness and lack of professionalism is unacceptable. The uncleared lot and the waitress's behavior left a lasting bad impression. I wouldn't recommend staying here if safety and basic respect matter to you.
