Hotel-Garni Versail

We left because the apartment felt uninhabitable, not because of our expectations. At around 18°C, we were sitting in jackets, crowded around a tiny heater in a two-bedroom apartment. The old portable heater was handed over only after a long argument and was nowhere near enough. The radiators weren't working, and the adjustments they claimed to make had no effect. We reported the cold straight away. At reception, we were met with arguments, hostility, and accusations that we'd tampered with or damaged the radiators. The receptionist and manager insisted the room wasn't cold despite the temperature. When we said my sister and mother were ill, they said that was why we felt cold and asked why we'd come while sick. The manager said he wasn't a doctor, kept rolling his eyes, and came across as arrogant and completely lacking empathy. We paid for comfort and proper conditions, but got cold, disrespect, and a total lack of professionalism. Proper heating is a basic requirement, not a matter of personal sensitivity. Calling 18°C comfortable is misleading when guests have to wear jackets indoors, and providing a heater only confirmed the heating wasn't sufficient. What other guests may have felt is irrelevant to how cold our apartment was. Bringing our health into it was inappropriate. The reply's claim about respectful communication doesn't match the dismissive attitude we experienced. Absolutely not recommended.

The hotel is near Galtür's shop, with walking options and a cross-country ski trail behind it.

We've been coming back for years, and it feels just as good in summer. The location, ski bus, and price all work perfectly for us. It's a real family atmosphere, with wonderful hosts. Full marks!

The Lorenz family really go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. They're enthusiastic and helpful with room requests, breakfast, and at the bar, and their guided mountain tours come with lots of interesting information. The rooms have balconies, are nicely furnished, and very clean. Breakfast is generous, with something for everyone. Excellent value for money at this cozy, family-run B&B.
