Hotel Germania Gastein

The rooms were clean and spacious, and the receptionist and restaurant team were friendly and helpful. We had a lovely view of the mountains from the balcony. Both the buffet breakfast and buffet dinner were tasty. We stayed for two nights and everything was perfect.

We were pleasantly surprised by the accommodation on our first visit. Our superior room was spacious, with a kitchenette, a large balcony and a great view across the park promenade. Daily maid service kept it impeccably clean. Breakfast was simple but good, and there was free parking in the central location. It’s very, very dog friendly, so we’d recommend it to pet owners. Unlimited free entry to Alpentherme Gastein was a big plus. The staff were so friendly and helpful that we felt welcome and relaxed. Special thanks to Daniel, the young lady at reception whose name I unfortunately forgot, and her lovely dog Mika!

The people here are super friendly and helpful, and breakfast was very good. The Gastein Card also gives free access to the therme, which was a big plus for me. The hotel and its furniture show their age. We used the suite as a double room for four people, and that wasn’t a good idea. Would we come again? Maybe, but without the kids. For arrival, take the longer route instead of driving through the resort. Some streets are closed in the evening.

The restaurant was the best part for us. We ate dinner and breakfast there every day, and the food was always fresh and tasty. The waiters were consistently friendly and looked after us well. I wouldn’t rate this as a four-star stay. The room furnishings are dated, the beds are very uncomfortable, and the pillows are terrible. There’s a kitchenette, but no dishes or cutlery, so I’m not sure what it’s for. There’s no coffee or tea station in the room either.
