The lake view from our window was lovely, and breakfast had plenty of options. Staff were very nice, and the hotel has a rich history. Amenities in the room were simpler, though, with just one small pillow per person, and the internet was less reliable. Hotel amenities overall were a little limited. Arrive early if you want a parking spot in the square. You get a permit at the front desk.

The rooms were large and clean, the owner and staff very friendly, and breakfast was good. Staying here also feels like meeting history. It has been an inn since 1545, when America had only just been discovered, and Johannes Brahms stayed here in the 19th century.

The rooms are big, and breakfast is great, but the WiFi is poor. It’s an old hotel with character, though it could use some love and care. The gentleman running it was friendly and helpful.

A quiet place to stay in a very nice, stylish old hotel. The staff were friendly. Parking was a little complicated, and the spaces aren’t very suitable for bigger cars.

The staff were friendly, and they made a perfect soft-boiled egg for breakfast. That was about the bright spot. The place is worn down, especially the front entrance, and the stairs at the back door felt hazardous. The shower water flipped between scalding hot and freezing cold in an instant during the morning. There were no bread rolls at 7:30 am. The rooms were so noisy we could hear people breathing in the rooms above and next door, and we got no sleep until midnight. Heavily overpriced for what you get. A once-in-a-lifetime experience.
