Hauslwirt

Hauslwirt sits on the Main Street of Golling, and the restaurant there serves delicious food in generous portions at reasonable prices, maybe even a little underpriced. The trout filet with chanterelle risotto is worth trying. The service was very kind and helpful, and the breakfast buffet had a great choice of sweet and savory options. Our room was tiny but cozy, with quaint furnishings and a view of the pastel houses on the Main Street. I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the place was. The one drawback was the lack of AC. It was abnormally hot during our stay in Golling, though I don’t think that would usually be a problem.

We came for dinner with the family and didn’t stay overnight. The food was really good, and the service was incredible. I’d recommend it.

We all found something tempting on the dinner menu, and the meal left us satisfied. My daughter and I ordered the venison with red cabbage and potato croquettes, while my wife had the grilled fish plates. Both dishes were prepared amazingly well. The staff were very friendly. Only a few people spoke English, so when we needed help with the German-only daily menu or payment, they called someone who could assist. They were happy to help. I can only recommend it.

This family run hotel was a great fit for our school trip, which brought almost 100 people. Sorting out meals and ski equipment for over 80 children aged 11/12 wasn’t simple, but the staff were amazing and handled last minute changes when things came up. The hotel combines historic character with modern comfort. The rooms were immaculate, and the food was outstanding, good quality and served in ridiculous quantities. Nothing fancy that 11/12 year olds wouldn’t eat. Thanks so much to Gerhard and his family and staff for a fantastic week!
